Notarization and Attestation
Notarization / Legalization / Apostilled:
Notarization of documents is governed under the Notaries Act in Ontario. A notary public has all the powers of a commissioner for taking affidavits in Ontario, and can also witness or certify, and attest, the execution of a document, and certify and attest documents to be true copies of the original (ss. 3(1) and 4(1) of the Notaries Act). Further, it also depends whether you intend to send a document outside Canada for the purpose of any property or serving notice. Please contact us in case you require any assistance for this matter.
Consent to travel
Government of Canada recommends that a consent letter be carried wherein one parent or another adult family member or friend or grandparent is travelling out of Canada with the minor child without the other accompanying parent. This is basically required for ensuring that other parent is aware of the whereabouts of his/her child and has consented for the travel.
Letter of Invitation
This letter is required when a permanent resident, citizen or any person residing in Canada is inviting a friend, family member from outside Canada to visit Canada either for personal or professional purpose.
